NHA to Run Norwalk Head Start
October 27, 2016
The Norwalk Housing Authority has been chosen by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Administration for Children and Families Office to run the local Head Start program with the award of a $731,350 grant.  This early childhood development program is the perfect extension of the work NHA is already doing in childhood education.  The NHA currently runs several education programs for its youngest residents.  A free early childhood program for parents and their children birth through age 3 teaches valuable parenting skills through a variety of activities including fitness, early literacy groups, story time, field trips and parent workshops.  In addition, the NHA has five Learning Centers providing K-12 grade after-school programs designed to support academic achievement.
