The Norwalk Housing Foundation, Inc., is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit tax-exempt corporation, created to support the improvement of quality of life for Norwalk’s public housing residents. The Foundation provides residents of assisted housing in Norwalk with scholarships and support for post-secondary education.

Grants awarded to the Norwalk Housing Foundation have enabled the Norwalk Housing Authority to expand its highly praised free after-school academic Learning Center program to five public housing sites. These Centers serve three hundred youth on a daily basis from first through twelfth grade. The Centers are active players in the fight to shrink the performance gap at school.

The Norwalk Housing Foundation Scholarship Awards program was established in 1998 to provide support for public housing residents to attend college. In 2013, the program awarded $182,000 in scholarships to 38 students.
