April 5, 2021

Residents Ages 16 and up are now eligible and qualify for COVID-19 vaccine.

All CT individuals 16 years of age or older are now eligible and qualify for the COVID-19 vaccine. Several scheduling options are available.

Schedule by Phone Residents can call the Connecticut Vaccine Appointment Assist Line at 877.918.2224, seven days a week from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. for appointments throughout the state of Connecticut. Due to high volume, hold times may vary.

Schedule Online Appointments can also be made online. To register online and make an appointment, fill out the State of CT online form: https://dphsubmissions.ct.gov/OnlineVaccine

People 65+ who do not have the ability to schedule an appointment online can use the CT COVID Vaccine Appointment Assist Line at 877.918.2224

VAMS is a CDC federal registration system and will show available appointments. Eligible Norwalk residents may sign up for any open slot in Connecticut. The Norwalk Health Department, Norwalk Hospital, and community health care providers are distributing vaccines. As vaccine becomes available, additional appointment slots will be made available.

  • Persons 16 years of age and older will be eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. If you are interested in receiving the COVID-19 vaccine please visit https://portal.ct.gov/vaccine-portal to
    search of vaccine sites or call 877.918.2224.

  • Also coming soon. In partnership with Uber, PayPal and Walgreens, LISC has created the Vaccine Access Fund to support free Uber rides to and from COVID-19 vaccine sites for people in communities hard hit by the pandemic.

  • Although CT has reopened the majority of its state attractions, CDC guidelines and recommendations of social distancing,
    wearing masks/face coverings must be followed in common areas of our community. Common areas include the hallways, lobby, mail area, stairwells, and elevators.

Safe Outdoor Activities for Fully Vaccinated People
  • Walk, run, or bike outdoors with members of your household
  • Attend a small outdoor gathering with fully vaccinated family and friends
  • Attend a small outdoor gathering with fully vaccinated and unvaccinated people
  • Dine at an outdoor restaurant with friends from multiple households
  • Attend a crowded outdoor event like a live performance, parade, or sports event

Free Drive-thru COVID-19 Testing

Free drive-thru COVID-19 testing is available daily
8:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. at Veterans Park in Norwalk.

  • Cars should enter through the west entrance, near the Stroffolino Bridge, and proceed through the park.
  • Due to high demand, testing lines may be closed earlier and there may be significant wait times.
  • No symptoms, appointment, insurance, or doctor's note are needed to be tested.
  • NO DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED

The COVID Alert CT App

Download the COVID Alert CT app, which notifies you if you have been in close contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19.

  • COVID Alert CT is a voluntary, anonymous, exposure-notification smartphone app.
  • The free mobile app - available to anyone 18 or older who lives, works, or attends college in Connecticut.
  • COVID Alert CT is available in English, Spanish, Portuguese, Polish, Mandarin, Haitian-Creole (Android only), Bengali (Android only), and Arabic.

Worried about Feeding Your Family During the COVID-19 Outbreak?

These Norwalk organizations offer pantry and/or meal services. Please call ahead to confirm details, as circumstances are changing quickly.

For food, meals and food pantries visit the city of Norwalk website and the health department, available in both English and Spanish.

Person to Person has special COVID food assistance and emergency financial assistance; and is looking for donations. Resources are available for low-income residents affected by COVID-19.

Norwalk Public Schools is no longer making school bus deliveries for meals. And Bridgeport Rescue Mission has had to stop serving take-home meals at our public housing communities.

  • Home Ownership Workshops
    Due to the COVID-19 outbreak and to reduce the spread of the Coronavirus, previously scheduled NHA's home ownership workshops are postponed until further notice.

  • Bridgeport Neighborhood Trust is offering free online home ownership workshops (English or Spanish), as well as classes in credit repair, financial crisis management and more. Check their website: www.bntweb.org. Pre-registration is required.
