Norwalk Housing Foundation (NHF) is the official public charity of Norwalk Housing (NH). It was created as a fund in 1998 to finance scholarships and other educational services for NH students. Today, it has blossomed into a full-service, non-profit organization that addresses the diverse and multifaceted needs of our residents.
Thanks to the generosity of our yearly donors, we are now not only able to provide annual scholarships to over 40 qualifying residents, but we also fund Summer and After-school programing at 4 of our housing developments that provide educational, enrichment and social/emotional learning to over 100 students, grades K-5. We also now offer Family and Adult Learning resources at our EnVision Center. This includes Workforce Development, Financial Literacy and Health & Wellness.
Our mission is to partner with our residents to break the cycle of poverty and promote independence and self-sufficiency. Working together, we build the healthy environments necessary for our residents to thrive and to be empowered to create lasting change in their lives to ultimately transition out of public housing.
